One of our pastures happens to be full of walnut trees, and this year we are finally using them instead of letting them go to waste. Since they grow wild, we do not fertilize or water the trees, and so these products are most certainly sustainable - plenty are left for the squirrels and for new growth.

Other Walnut Products
Walnut hulls are high in the tannins that make the dark walnut stain. Hulls are used as a natural hair dye, to dye fabrics, and to make old fashioned ink, which is great for stamping, calligraphy, and other artwork.
20 g - Walnut Hull Powder
More than enough to make some ink at home, the hull powder is also used for some tinctures or dying fabric. Some add it to tea for health benefits - that would really be BLACK tea!
